Client Success Overview
Client: Lenna Lou, Award-winning business mentor, Speaker, Chair-woman, Founder of The L Factor Ltd
Sector: Leadership development, business mentoring and board advisory
Scope: Personal brand strategy, LinkedIn content strategy, thought leadership and audience growth
Result: Grew her LinkedIn audience to 8,493 followers, representing 200% growth, while increasing her visibility among senior executives, investors and board leaders
The challenge
Lenna Lou is an award-winning business mentor, investor and advocate for diversity economics.
As the founder of The L Factor Ltd, she works with C-suite executives and senior leaders through business mentoring, leadership development and strategic collaboration.
Lenna had a strong professional track record, a distinctive perspective and an established offline network. However, her LinkedIn presence did not yet reflect the depth of her experience or the authority she had built through her work.
Her content was not consistently communicating her expertise, and there was limited clarity around the themes she wanted to be known for.
The challenge was to translate her real-world credibility into a stronger digital presence that could increase her visibility, grow the right audience and support broader opportunities.
My role
I worked closely with Lenna to define her personal brand, develop a clearer thought leadership position and build a more structured approach to LinkedIn.
My role combined strategic direction with hands-on content development, audience insight and ongoing optimisation.
The work included:
Reviewing Lenna’s existing LinkedIn presence and content performance.
Clarifying the audiences she wanted to reach.
Defining her core personal brand and thought leadership pillars.
Developing a consistent LinkedIn content strategy.
Translating her experience and perspectives into accessible content.
Creating posts designed to encourage meaningful discussion.
Strengthening her positioning across leadership, mentoring and governance.
Monitoring audience response and refining the strategy over time.
Supporting Lenna in building a more visible and recognisable executive presence.
The approach
1. Clarifying the personal brand
The first priority was to define what Lenna wanted to be known for and ensure her LinkedIn presence reflected both her expertise and personality.
Her experience covered several connected areas, including leadership, mentoring, networking, boardroom access and governance.
I helped bring these themes together into a clearer personal brand that positioned Lenna as a trusted voice for senior professionals navigating leadership, influence and board-level opportunities.
This created greater consistency across her profile, content and wider communications.
2. Developing clear thought leadership pillars
To build a more recognisable presence, I developed a set of content pillars based on Lenna’s experience, audience interests and business priorities.
These pillars gave Lenna a structured foundation for sharing her expertise while allowing enough flexibility to respond to current conversations and real-world experiences.
3. Creating content around senior leader priorities
The strategy focused on the challenges and decisions relevant to Lenna’s target audience, rather than producing generic leadership content.
Posts explored topics such as credibility, influence, access to board opportunities, executive relationships and the realities of progressing into senior leadership.
This helped Lenna communicate her expertise in a way that was relevant to executives, investors and board leaders while creating opportunities for meaningful discussion.
One post reflecting on boardroom access generated more than 50 substantive comments, showing that the content was resonating with the right audience.
4. Building consistency and recognisability
A key part of the strategy was creating a consistent publishing rhythm and a recognisable style of communication.
I helped shape content that retained Lenna’s direct, conversational voice while giving each post a clear structure, insight and purpose.
Over time, this consistency helped strengthen recognition of Lenna’s perspective and made it easier for her audience to understand what she stood for.
Rather than relying on isolated high-performing posts, the strategy was designed to build authority through repeated, relevant contributions.
5. Turning visibility into real-world opportunities
The content strategy was not designed around follower growth alone.
The wider objective was to ensure Lenna’s LinkedIn presence could support speaking opportunities, strategic relationships and meaningful conversations with senior decision-makers.
As her visibility grew, LinkedIn increasingly became a bridge between Lenna’s digital presence and her offline work.
Content led to invitations to speak and collaborate, stronger recognition at high-profile events and direct conversations with people who had already become familiar with her work online.
The outcome
The work transformed Lenna’s LinkedIn presence into a clearer and more established thought leadership platform.
The results included:
Growth to 8,493 followers, representing a 200% audience increase.
More than 5,000 new connections and followers, including executives, investors and board leaders.
Posts regularly achieving thousands of impressions.
More than 50 meaningful comments on a single post about boardroom access.
Increased profile visits and inbound speaking enquiries.
Speaking and collaboration opportunities generated directly through LinkedIn.
Greater visibility among senior decision-makers.
Increased recognition at high-profile in-person events.
More opportunities for direct one-to-one conversations with prospective clients and collaborators.
The strategic impact
This project went beyond increasing follower numbers or improving post performance.
It involved translating Lenna’s experience, relationships and point of view into a clearer executive brand that could be recognised both online and offline.
By connecting personal brand strategy, thought leadership and consistent content, I helped Lenna build stronger authority within her market and create a platform that supports visibility, relationships and business development.
Her LinkedIn profile now operates as both a digital portfolio and an ongoing source of inbound opportunity, reinforcing her reputation as a trusted voice in leadership, mentoring and boardroom access.
